As some of you may know, I’ve been dabbling a bit in art journaling lately… and quite honestly, I am loving it! I’ve joked in the past how I gave up paper scrapbooking in 2005 and yet, I still have many of my supplies from those days. Well, since discovering art journaling and mixed media, I’m thrilled to be able to shop my own stash of stuff for my art! Of course, it hasn’t stopped me from buying new stuff that’s available – too many goodies to pass up on! My favorite supply at the moment are the Dylusions Ink Sprays – oh they are yummy!
Anyway, I wanted to share some of the pages and projects I’ve been working on. I am really loving art journaling as a form of art therapy. I’ve had some difficult times lately and it has helped me to get those feelings out on my pages. It also helps to get the good stuff down too! But one of the main questions I find that I ask myself quite often is how do I know when something is finished? I mean, I love working on a page, but how do I know when it’s done? I often want to just keep adding to it and changing bits… I guess when I get sick of doing that, I’ll call it done!
Here are a few of my art journal pages. Remember, I am very much a beginner, but I love to play and try out new techniques. Also, I know the photos are not the best, they are from my phone and unprocessed but hopefully you get the idea.
I tried my hand at a self-portrait:
Yesterday, took a trip to the dollar store for some new “tools”:
Took my daughter to see Mockingjay-Part 1, came home and created this:
I am trying to be more positive in my life. I woke up this morning and created this:
And finally, this is a canvas piece that I don’t think is quite finished yet. I’m not crazy about the black lines but not quite sure what to do with it yet. Suggestions?
So there you have it. A peek inside my artsy life. I love spending time just playing – hmmm…. now how to incorporate into my digital designs? 🙂
Hope you have a fabulous day! Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to link me up to any art you may be creating. I’d love to see it!
